Selwyn Primary School, Rotorua
Selwyn Primary School is a U6 school of 510 students situated in Rotorua. We originally purchased a Student Management System which looked good on paper and in the demonstrations provided by its sales people. The reality for us was that, once installed, the system did not in any way meet our needs.
After considerable discussion we decided to switch to Musac and have not regretted the decision at all. The transition was made without any difficulty and the back up support was excellent. Our school office personnel now has a system that performs consistently and all teaching and management staff have access to a reliable classroom manager programme that is easy to access and use.
The development of an end of year data form by Edtech as part of our report on students’ progress more than met our expectations and has made life a lot easier for teachers to complete and parents to understand.
When needed, the people at the support desk are easily accessible, knowledgeable and only too happy to help.
We have every confidence in fully recommending Musac and the support company Edtech to prospective purchasers. Our experience over the past three years has been totally positive.
Tony Pope, Principal
Rata Street School, Wellington
The school’s capability to use MUSAC Classroom Manager has increased substantially since we have been supported by Edtech. It has been fantastic to finally have a Wellington based MUSAC person that is knowledgeable of the school environment and can be with us more often.
Because Edtech have been supporting MUSAC CM in other areas of NZ, they have a lot of knowledge of what the programme can do and how it can help teachers. They had a large number of templates that have already been developed so we weren’t trying to reinvent the wheel, but we still had the flexibility to tweak the programme to suit our needs.
Dave Appleyard, Principal
Waterview Primary School, Auckland
We came back to MUSAC because of the functionality of their software and the outstanding support provided by Edtech.
Brett Skeen, Principal
Baverstock Oaks School, Auckland
Our systems have improved hugely and that’s what we stand for - Quality learning and teaching is at the heart of everything we do. If this helps drive it, say no more.
Mary Wilson, Principal
Oteha Valley School, Auckland
Our school uses 6 of the MUSAC modules and they meet all our needs for managing student and staff information. The fact that they all ‘talk’ to each other reduces data entry time significantly. Many of our staff had already benefited from the valuable expertise and support offered by the people at Edtech and this has certainly been our experience as we’ve established our systems.
Classroom Manager has been specifically programmed to produce reports and track progress in areas that we have chosen to measure. What ever graph, table or list that we asked for was created for us. Aggregated data for any year-level, and longitudinal tracking of individual and cohort achievement through Years 1-6 are easily produced with a click of the mouse. This makes reporting to the Board of Trustees very easy, and provides clear evidence to use when completing the Analysis of Variance for each Annual Report.
Having explored and used other solutions I happily come back to the ease and usefulness of MUSAC products.
Megan Bowden, Principal
Browns Bay School, Auckland
Our teachers have undergone extensive professional development and we now use the MUSAC ClassRoom Manager programme, extensively, to track childrens progress, report against achievement objectives, report to Board and for Report Writing.
We have enjoyed a high level of support and professionalism from Edtech in terms of the operation, maintenance and up-grading of these programmes as and when necessary.
Jo Hewitt, Deputy Principal
Dominion Road School, Auckland
We are currently using MUSAC to track student data, to present aggregated data to our Board, to present ethnic achievements to our parents, and to use this information to inform our strategic plan. The benefits to our school are huge: I am able to track data regularly and follow up immediately, our teachers find this programme immensely user-friendly and thus are using it regularly…and most importantly we now have some level of historical data regarding individual student progress.
We thoroughly enjoy working with Edtech and continuing our professional growth with their able assistance.
Marian Caulfield, Principal
Wairau Intermediate School, Auckland
Wairau Intermediate has been using MUSAC software for 8 years and is extremely happy with the product, the service that accompanies the programmes and the support we receive from Edtech in Auckland. We use Student Manager and Classroom Manager and both programmes contribute tremendously to the smooth running of the school.
Classroom Manager is used to gather school wide assessment data and to aggregate that data. It also writes our school academic reports. A particular innovation for us has been the ability of the programme to cross group children across the school. This was something we asked for and Edtech were able to provide.
